Spring is here ... maybe?

The kids have enjoyed playing outside in the warmer weather.  My neighbor has some beautiful buttercups!

I played around with my camera a little bit.  David was not such a willing subject!

Always the first sign of spring!

The sun kept coming in and out so I had a hard time getting the setting on my camera right.

The kids had fun playing on the play set.

I got some really cute shots of Luke.  I love his sweet smile.

Luke plays golf with any stick and ball.

Fall Fun!!

Well, I am finally managing to get some pictures up of the kids playing in the leaves. We had a really beautiful fall this year and we had a streak of mild weather where we could actually get outside and enjoy all the beautiful colors. Last year, our yard guys cleaned up all the leaves before we managed to get outside for some leaf pile jumping. We beat them to the punch this year.

Claire has been learning a lot about the seasons at preschool this year and really noticed the leaves changing colors and falling to the ground. She made a comment about it every time we got in the car to go somewhere.

Claire had fun playing in the leaves, but ...

she much preferred to rake the leaves ...

or throw the leaves.

David did not love playing in the leaves at first. {notice Claire still raking in the background.}

David: "I'll just stand up here and watch."

Oh my ... I have quite the budding yard crew. I need to put these guys to work more often!

Okay ... now David is warming up to the leaves a little more.

Some other random pics from our afternoon outside.

Weekend wrap-up: October 23-25

Another busy weekend in the books. While Will was headed to the UT/Bama game with buddies Jay, Colin & Tate, we were having soccer pictures made ... in 48* degree weather.

David had fun watching all the pictures. It was shortly after this that he started screaming for the remainder of the pictures and soccer game because he HATES being in his stroller.

Soccer game. Claire had the two little ringers on her team in her group, so I think she touched the ball maybe once or twice. But she was right in the thick of things the entire game, so that is progress.

One little ringer is sitting on the ground in blue. She is made because the other little ringer is kicking the ball in the goal (and not her). Where is your team spirit girls?

I finally got a post-game tunnel picture.

After we thawed out from the soccer game and took naps/rests, the sun came out and we had the most beautiful fall afternoon. We decided to play outside for a while to kill some time until dinner since I was single parenting it for the day.

We played golf.

And more soccer.

And even took a wagon ride. The kids were both shouting Roll Tide!! They needed some extra cheers this week.

Sunday afternoon was another beautiful fall day so we headed outside after naps to play.

We got our pumpkins out to carve, but never got around to it.

What a beautiful fall day! This is the tree in our front yard. It is changing to gold more and more everyday. Love that blue sky against the fall leaves. God is good!

In today's news ...

The firetruck came to the kids' preschool today and everyone got their own fireman's hat.

The kids acting silly with Daddy before dinner. Who knew you could use a lap tray as a kitchen sled.

Looks like everyone had a good time!

David thoroughly enjoyed his Halloween Oreo cookie. And he said "cheese" for the picture.

A few pictures from the weekend ...

We had a busy weekend! It was HOT and we spent quite a bit of time in the pool.

Thursday night, we let the kids play in the backyard on the slide, while Will grilled BBQ ribs for dinner. They were YUMMY! We haven't spent much time in the backyard this summer out of fear of being eaten alive by all the mosquitoes. It has been really bad this year and no amount of bug spray, spraying the yard or use of citronella candles seem to help. The last time I was in the back yard playing with the kids, I woke up with 50+ mosquito bites from my neck down to my mid-thigh. The next 2-3 days were miserable!!

Friday, we met with one of our playgroups at a friend's neighborhood pool and had a fun time playing with all of our friends from church. This was the first time I took both kids to the pool and actually feel like I managed everything well. This was also the first time David actually stayed in the baby float for any period of time too. Go figure. I do much better when he is contained!

Friday night, we went to my sister's house. While the guys watched all 4 kids, my sister and I cleaned out her bonus room closet and set up a sewing area for her. Now she has no excuse not to sew! It took us about 3 hours, but now she has a quite little place to sew and she can keep all of her stuff out. This was my birthday gift to her. I love it because it didn't cost me anything except a night hanging out with my little sis! Priceless!

Saturday morning started early ... for me anyway. I got up at 3:45 because I couldn't sleep! I hate it when I do that. I had everything all ready to take the kids to my parents' house for the day, but got a late start (despite being up so early) when David got choked eating breakfast and threw up all over himself (and his high chair). I was pooped and it was only 8:30 in the morning! We finally got to Meme and Poppy's house where I sewed a little and then took Claire to their neighborhood pool while David napped. We headed back to our house after dinner.

Sunday was church and naps and chores. Naps for the kids anyway! Here are some cute pics I shot of Claire after lunch. My mom made this dress for her and Claire was so proud of it. My friend Jennie saw her in her class at church and told me that Claire told her all about her new dress that here Meme made her. I love this dress, but my mom said she is never making another one because it required so much handwork. (She made two in a row ... one for Claire and one for my niece.) Maybe she'll want to make another one after she takes a little break! I'll bet she will after she sees these pictures!
