New school and a Valentine's Day party

I am just crazy about Luke's new preschool.  Right now, he is only there MWF, but in the fall he will be there everyday!

We took him to his Valentine's Day party last Thursday (even though he is not normally there that day).  This is first time I've gotten to take pictures because normally we just drop him and run (to avoid any crying ... and he still cries sometimes).  And I still don't know any of the kids in his class, but I did get to meet a few parents at the party.

I was worried about my other 2 kids being with me (I couldn't find anyone else to watch them ... believe me, I tried), but they were fine.  Except for David was LESS THAN THRILLED to be at Luke's party!

Finally!  A picture of Luke with his teachers.  Ms. Michelle ...

and Ms. Wendy.

We are just crazy about these ladies!  And Luke was crazy about the heart cookies.  I'll bet he ate 4 of them during the 30 minutes we were there!

Happy Valentine's Day

We had a fun day Valentine's Day this year.

The kids got a big box of Valentine's Day treats from their grandparents in the mail.

I got some beautiful flowers from my sweet boy.

Cupcakes for breakfast on Valentine's Day!  A special treat!

Everyone in their pink and red before school.

Me and my boys!

Will was in charge of dinner and I picked up some yummy sweet treats for dessert.  I also bought 6 individual cupcakes to take to the boys' teachers at school.

Will made dinner while I ran Claire to/from art camp that afternoon.

Will set up this lovely candlelight dinner for us.

My sweet Claire bear.

Will and I watched "To Rome With Love" and enjoyed remembering our trip to Rome last summer.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of Will and I.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I heart Valentine's Day

Claire is always super-sad that she doesn't get valentine's day card from her classmates each year.  You know, mainly since her classmates are me, myself and I.  Ha!

This year, I actually got my act together early and put together 12 days of Valentine's Day treats for her.  So she gets a little treat each day.  I got the idea here.  (There is a link to a PDF document with all of the little sayings.)

"I love your BEAR HUGS!  They are so special"-Teddy Grahams

"Life is a circus with you around"-Animal crackers

"It's o-fish-al!  You're the best kid ever."-Goldfish crackers

"You color my world with happiness"-box of crayons

"Hope your day is Marvelous & Magnificent just like you"-bag of M&Ms

"I love you more than Chocolate ..." - any kind of chocolate candy

"You make my heart GLOW"-small flashlight, flashlight wand (party favor section @ Target), glow sticks/wand

"You make my life a little sweeter"-suckers or any kind of candy

"You're a great catch ..."-Swedish fish or Goldfish crackers

"You blow me away"-bubbles or balloons

"You're the apple of my eye"-apple juice, apple

"You're my treasure"-chocolate coins, change for piggy bank

{I think I spent about $12-$15 total for all of these little treats}

For David and Luke's classroom valentine's, I turned to Pinterest.

David's classmates will get these Star Wars cards with glow stick light-saber swords.

Luke's classmates will get these cute jars of playdough.

I also plan on making my favorite Valentine's Day cupcakes!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We started our Valentine's Day festivities the weekend before at a fundraiser dance with Claire and David (Luke stayed home with grandparents).  They had a fun time I think.  They would have preferred to be dancing to a KidBop CD as opposed to the band that played.

I overheard Claire telling David that "maybe he would hear 'Party Rock' or 'Big Apple Adventure'".  (FYI-Big Apple Adventure was the theme song from VBS at our church last summer and we listen to the CD all the time!)  I seriously doubt there is any event that would play these two songs together!

Out on the dance floor with Mommy.  Everybody wanted to dance with me.  I felt special!

We went with tow other couples from church.  Will with Rocky & Carey.

David tried out a little limbo.

My friends Heather and Teri (and baby CJ).

Claire and Will dancing to "Brown Eyed Girl".  Will and I danced to this song at our wedding!

Dressed in our Valentine tees for school on Monday.  I had a hard time getting a good picture of all 3 kids!  Imagine that!

Another try.

I caught this sweet hug on camera.

Heads together!  Luke was not a fan of this pose.

A sweet treat from a local bakery ... mini strawberry and red velvet cupcakes.  (I always take cupcakes to the kids' teachers for Valentine's Day ... like one big gourmet cupcake from Gigi's.)

David made this fun V-day picture at school on Monday.

Claire working on a Valentine craft for her school.  She was a little sad not to have a class party this year (since we are homeschooling) but we had fun mailing some V-day cards to a few special friends (and they had fun getting a treat in the mail).

Daddy bought us all Wii games for Valentine's Day. (I'm not a big flower person.)  Claire and I are super-pumped to play our new Just Dance games.

The kiddos and me.

Will and the kiddos.

Our new favorite treat!  We turned this ...

Into this.  The combo of strawberry, chocolate and cream cheese is divine.  Go here for the recipe.

We planned on staying home to celebrate with a nice dinner, wine and some Wii playing (and maybe a movie after the kids were in bed), but were offered FREE last minute hockey tickets Tuesday afternoon.  We had been wanting to take the kids to a hockey game so we jumped on the chance to go for FREE!

Let's go Predators!

First hockey game for the kids.  Will said he never imagined that Luke's first professional sporting event would be a hockey game!

We made it through 2 periods before we headed home.  I think the big kids could have watched the whole game, but Luke was getting fussy since it was WAY past his bedtime.

Just to prove that I was there too.

Happy Valentine's Day!!
