Spring Soccer

Claire and David both played soccer this year.  David played up in U6.  He did fine.  I think he would have been bored in the younger league another season.  Claire is still playing U8.

It was a cold spring, which is surprising since we had such a mild winter.  We wore long-sleeve tees under our soccer jerseys almost every single week.  I even took a blanket one week!

Some pictures of David one Saturday.  He was kind of hit or miss as to whether he was really into a game or not.  Sometimes, he preferred to play with the scenery.

Most of the little boys from Claire's awesome fall soccer team played baseball this spring so we had a whole new team with the exception of her buddy Griffin.  This is her team at practice one night. (I get better pictures at a late afternoon practice than I do at an early morning game.)

Here David in action again.

David missed his last game because he was running a fever ... and it was 38 degrees that morning.

Here is Claire's team photo that Will took on his phone.  (I stayed home with David.)

A hunting we will go ...

Both the boys had egg hunts at their preschools the week before Easter.  And it was COLD!  Like David-had-on-his-winter-jacket-cold and Luke's-egg-hunt-was-moved-inside-because-it-was-snowing-cold.

Here are some pictures from David's hunt.

And they are off!

Here are pictures from Luke's Easter party and indoor egg hunt.

Time to eat.  These kids eat at 3pm like they haven't had 2 breakfasts and lunch already.  (Luke eats breakfast #1 at home, then has breakfast #2 around 8:30 at school.)

Fun Easter sensory bin.  Just glad all that grass isn't at my house!

The kids made bunny baskets out of milk cartons.

Time to hunt eggs.  Luke only picked up about 3-4 eggs because he kept stopping to eat the candy.

SEC Basketball

Will spent the better part of Friday and Saturday at the SEC Basketball Tourney.  Friday, he got to watch Alabama beat Tennessee and hung out with 4 friends from church.

(Sorry for the horrible picture, but this is all I got.  We're making memories here people!)

Saturday afternoon, he took David with him to watch Alabama play Florida in the semifinals.  They made a quick stop at SEC Fanfare before the game.  Apparently, David is a big hit with all the ladies (and the mascots).  Alabama's cheer squad rounded up Big Al for David.

Our friends from Birmingham came up to watch the Bama game.  David and Kirk had fun hanging out together.

David and Will.  What a fun father-son outing ... and David's first Bama basketball game!

David made it through the Bama game and half of the other semi-final game (Vandy vs. Ole Miss) before they headed home.

So glad my guys had such a fun time!

Mack is back!

Twice in 2 months.  How did that happen?

Needless to say, I was less than thrilled when I picked David up at preschool on Friday and found out that Mack the monkey was coming home with us again!  Not that I mind having a stuffed monkey at my house.  I do, however, mind having another weekend project thrown onto my plate at the last minute.

So mack came to spend another blah weekend with us and I sent this lovely little report to school with David on Monday morning.  What I didn't mention was the Mack spent a lot of time sitting around while David was in TIME OUT.  This weekend will not go down as one of his best behaved!

(In case you care how we got Mack twice in 2 months, it's because David just started this class in January.  He got Mack the first week because all the other kids had already gone once the previous semester.  Then, they started drawing names for the second round and David was the second person drawn.  It's a flawed system, I know!)
