Grandparents' Day

Luke's school had a grandparents brunch a few weeks ago.  Luke was lucky enough to have all 4 of his grandparents attend.

Claire was there too.  One of the other moms snapped this cute picture of those two eating.

Before the brunch, Luke's class did a little performance of "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Twinkle, Twinkle".  When Luke saw his grandparents, he refused to participate.   See below.

He finally stood with his RiRi (Will's mom) and kind of sang along.  In his defense, I took him to the doctor at lunch that day and he had a double ear infection.  He was just not feeling 100% that morning and seeing all of his grandparents and his mommy and not being able to go to them was hard on the little boy!

I was disappointed though because his teachers had told me that he was the best performer when they practiced in the weeks leading up to the performance.

Here is a video Will took of Luke singing (with motions) the "Itsy Bitsy Spider".

I love to color!

Luke absolutely loves to color.  Or "ka wer" as he so cutely says.

He does not like to color alone either.  He will often say "kawer me" and pull me over to the table and force a crayon into his hand.

He doesn't really have a preference for one crayon over the other (skinny versus fat).  I'm just glad he doesn't eat them anymore.

He will usually just color with one of two colors on each page.  But he is clearly trying to color just over the picture instead of all over the page.

This has all just started in January since he started going to daycare on MWF.  I'm thankful for the improvement in his fine motor skills.

I got these seasonal coloring books for the kids here.  I usually just upload them to a local office store and have 3 copies printed, three-hole punch them and then place them in a clear-cover folder to make a "book".  Luke always knows to look for his name (David gets VERY upset if anyone colors in his book) and says "Luke paper".

A hunting we will go ...

Both the boys had egg hunts at their preschools the week before Easter.  And it was COLD!  Like David-had-on-his-winter-jacket-cold and Luke's-egg-hunt-was-moved-inside-because-it-was-snowing-cold.

Here are some pictures from David's hunt.

Here are pictures from Luke's Easter party and indoor egg hunt.

Time to eat.  These kids eat at 3pm like they haven't had 2 breakfasts and lunch already.  (Luke eats breakfast #1 at home, then has breakfast #2 around 8:30 at school.)

Fun Easter sensory bin.  Just glad all that grass isn't at my house!

The kids made bunny baskets out of milk cartons.

Time to hunt eggs.  Luke only picked up about 3-4 eggs because he kept stopping to eat the candy.

New school and a Valentine's Day party

I am just crazy about Luke's new preschool.  Right now, he is only there MWF, but in the fall he will be there everyday!

We took him to his Valentine's Day party last Thursday (even though he is not normally there that day).  This is first time I've gotten to take pictures because normally we just drop him and run (to avoid any crying ... and he still cries sometimes).  And I still don't know any of the kids in his class, but I did get to meet a few parents at the party.

I was worried about my other 2 kids being with me (I couldn't find anyone else to watch them ... believe me, I tried), but they were fine.  Except for David was LESS THAN THRILLED to be at Luke's party!

Finally!  A picture of Luke with his teachers.  Ms. Michelle ...

and Ms. Wendy.

We are just crazy about these ladies!  And Luke was crazy about the heart cookies.  I'll bet he ate 4 of them during the 30 minutes we were there!
