2012-2012 Curriculum Choices


Our curriculum choices for the upcoming school year.  August 6, 2012 (our start date) will be here before we know it!

Claire (age 6-1/2)-1st Grade
Bible: Abeka 1 and devotions from Jesus Calling for kids, prayer journal
Reading/Language Arts/Spelling: Abeka 1
Writing: Abeka 1
Math: Abeka 1
Art: Abeka 1, Draw, Write, Now Book 1 and a few lessons from Deep Space Sparkle
Science: Abeka 1 and The Magic School Bus Science Kits
History: American Girl Dolls Samantha (1904) and Molly (1944) lessons plans and America: Our Great Country (Abeka)
Geography: Expedition Earth and Children of the World (Abeka)
Health: Abeka 1
Music: Piano lessons-Alfred's Basic Piano Library-Level 1A
PE: Soccer and Dance (ballet, tap and jazz)

David (age 4-1/2)-Pre-K
(David will attend a preschool program 2 days/week.  We will do pre-k activities at home on the other 3 days)
Bible: Bible verses from My ABC Bible Verses with coordinating activities from Raising Rock Stars Preschool and Kindergarten; Bible stories from the Jesus Storybook Bible.
Phonics/Reading: All About Reading Level 1 and Letter of the Week K4 curriculum
Math/Numbers:  Letter of the Week K4 curriculum
Art: How to Teach Art to Children by Joy Evans and My First Book of Drawing (Kumon Workbook)
Geography: Expedition Earth (with Claire)
Music: Songs to go along with bible verse to help with memorization
PE: Soccer and My Gym
Other: Literature theme units and activities from Before Five in a Row by Jane Claire Lambert

Luke (age 2)-Tot School
ABC Tot School printables from 1+1+1=1
Nursery Rhyme Tot Series from Living Life Intentionally
Age appropriate activities from Slow and Steady Get Me Ready by June R. Oberlander
